Baylor, Farragut Soccer Finish 1-1 At Baylor Tournament

  • Saturday, March 18, 2017

Baylor hosted Farragut Saturday morning in the Baylor Tournament.

At the 23rd minute, Farragut scored off a clearance to put them up 1-0.

It remained 1-0 at half.

At the 67th minute, John Musick scored off a restart from Mats Pokela.

Both teams had chances for the win but remained 1-1.

"Farragut has some really talented players that are dangerous when they run at you," Baylor coach, Curtis Blair said. "We struggled in the first half defending them 1v1. We did much better relaxing and being composed on the ball. We challenged our guys physically and mentally this week and they responded very well. Our strength is our work rate and we put forth a really good week of soccer."

Farragut outshot Baylor 10-6. Baylor's Mats Pokela had six saves in goal. Farragut's keeper had five.

Sam Joyner, Christon Jackson, Talus Iorio, Keegan Weekley, Nathan Webb and Eemeli Makela made outstanding contributions for the Red Raiders.

Baylor is now 4-0-1 and Farragut is 2-0-1.
