Thomas Ray Chambers, 61, of Ringgold, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 26, 2017, in a local hospital.

Mr. Chambers was born in Fort Oglethorpe, on Sept. 5, 1955, to the late John Thomas and Aretta Mae Chambers. Mr. Chambers graduated from Lakeview High School in 1973 and was the co-owner of Bi-Rite Grocery in North Chattanooga. He was of the Church of God Faith. He loved hunting, watching Alabama football and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas and Aretta Mae Chambers, brother, Johnny Dale Chambers, sisters, Shirley Lipham-Castleberry and Brenda Jean Mcroy.

Survivors include his sons, Johnathon and Jeremy Chambers, daughter, Jessica Pope, grandchildren, Drew, Brielle, Ryker, Maeleigh, Annabelle, Cash, Layla and Emory, step-children, Andrew, Zachary, Ian and Skye, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, at Battlefield Ministries Church of God, 64 Third Street, Fort Oglethorpe, Ga. 30742. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 pm until the service. There will be a time of fellowship for family and friends following the service.

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
