Ringgold To Hold Town Hall Meeting April 11

  • Wednesday, March 29, 2017

The City of Ringgold invites residents and business owners of Ringgold to attend a Town Hall Meeting Tuesday, April 11 at 6 p.m. at Patriot Hall located at 320 Emerson Drive, next to the Ringgold City Pool.

Carl Vinson Institute of Government has been retained to develop the Strategic Visioning and Planning for Ringgold. The process is being funded by the Lyndhurst Foundation.  This will involve working through a collaborative effort that engages a variety of public input, including multiple focus groups meetings, town hall meetings, interviews and public surveys.   The process will culminate in an integrated document that reflects the needs and desires of the community and helps direct future decision making as it relates to the redevelopment, growth and sustainability for all of downtown.

Mayor Nick Millwood explained “Several communities in Georgia have recently gone through the RSVP Program and it has been very beneficial to the future direction and growth of their cities.”

Danny Bivins, Senior Public Service Associate with Carl Vinson Institute of Government described the process as “our three-step process”.  “Where are we now?  Where are we going? and How do we get there? are the questions that will identify short and long term goals” explained Bivins.
