  • Friday, June 16, 2017

Cleveland State’s Small Business Development Center is hosting Women Entrepreneurs Group Meetings on the first Wednesday of each month from noon-1 p.m. in Room 202 of the Technology Building on CSCC’s campus.

A light lunch will be served, and the meetings are open to any women business owners throughout the CSCC service area of Bradley, McMinn, Meigs, Monroe, and Polk counties.

Each month will feature a different topic. The dates and topics featured are as follows:

July 5: Where’s the Money: Business Credit Opportunities

Aug. 2: What’s App? New Technologies for Business

Sept. 6: What Are Your SWOTS? Strengths, Weaknesses, Threats and    Opportunities?

Oct. 4: Are You Being Schooled? Finding Continuing Business Educational Opportunities

Nov. 1: What Gets You Out of Your PJ’s? Motivation and Encouragement

Dec. 6: Should I Offer More Services: Expansion Based On Customer Needs

“We started the women entrepreneurs group meetings back in October of last year, and it has grown to about 35 participants right now,” said Jennie DeCook, small business specialist. “We really wanted to be able to encourage women business owners. They have some unique challenges in the area of business. The ones that we work for and with are sole proprietors. Sometimes they work in relative isolation, and this group gives them an opportunity to discover that others are having the same challenges and then interface to discuss solutions to the problems they are having.”
