Jay “Doodle“ Combs, 64, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Rosa Combs, and a brother J.C. Combs Jr.
Survivors are his sons, Chad Combs and Shaun Combs of Ooltewah; brothers, Harlan Combs of Rossville, and Roy Lee Combs of Decatur; sisters, Susie Ward of Decatur, and Mary Lou Watkins of Athens; two grandchildren, Dylan Combs and Kaylee Combs; several nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 17, in the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Reverend Jamey Davis officiating.
Interment will be in the Beta Cemetery on Friday, Aug. 18, at 11 a.m. Chad Combs, Shaun Combs, Jesse Combs, Donald Daniel, Chris Erwin, Jeff Bettis will serve as pallbearers with Johnny Watkins and Marcus King as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 6-8 p.m., at Bowers Funeral Home prior to the services.
