Internationally acclaimed pianist, Roy Treiyer will present an afternoon concert at Brainerd Presbyterian Church,  1624 Jenkins Road, just off of East Brainerd Road. on Sept. 24 at 3 p.m.

From the Maestro's dossier, we read:
"Roy Treiyer was born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. Raised mostly in the United States and Argentina. After requesting a keyboard for his 11th birthday present, he quickly became passionate on playing the instrument. During his teenage years, his interest in piano continued increasing to such a point that led him to participate in Andrews 1st International Piano Competition (2008), where he was awarded 3rd prize.
Upon completing his Psychology and Music Education degrees in Argentina, he decided to focus his studies more exclusively on piano. In May of 2014, Roy graduated with a Masters in Piano Performance from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. During his course of study, he won numerous awards and met wonderful colleagues.

Roy has had the privilege to perform in numerous places in Europe, North and South America. Besides being a performer, he also enjoys teaching and accompanying. He currently works as Adjunct Professor of Piano at Covenant College, and is the accompanist for the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera Chorus, Burks United Methodist Church and Brainerd Presbyterian Church. His greatest motivation resides in performing sacred music and making new arrangements of inspiring hymns."

Music Director, Dr. Tom Hammett said, "I first met Roy Treiyer a couple of seasons ago when he was accompanying the Chattanooga Symphony Chorus in preparation for the performance of the Brahms German Requiem.  I had never been more impressed with an accompanist as he sailed through a most difficult musical score with such facility, accuracy and musicality.  He just didn't miss. His playing was flawless, expressive, and exciting.  Sometime later as our church accompanist moved to a new career, Brainerd Presbyterian found ourselves in need of a high-quality accompanist and church pianist.  With almost zero expectation of success, I issued an invitation to Roy to accept the position.  Much to my astonishment and delight, he was indeed available and accepted our invitation.  Our weekly choir rehearsals flow like never before, and the congregation sits nearly spell-bound each week as Mr. Trieyer presents offertory selections.  Roy seems to fall into a rather select association in our city as a member of the famed 'Best Kept Secrets of Chattanooga Club.' His playing is extraordinary and inspiring musically, intellectually, and spiritually.  I just wish everyone in Chattanooga could hear him play."

Joining Roy for the afternoon program will be another international-scale musician, Ethan McGrath.  Mr. McGrath has returned from a year's study at the famed Cambridge University in the U.K. where he earned his master's degree under a number of world renowned musicians such as Steven Layton, Susan Digby, and study with John Rutter.  Mr. McGrath was also a featured composer at the American Choral Directors Association National Convention in Minneapolis earlier in the year.

"The musical selections will feature many people-friendly, familiar songs presented in rich, creative and original arrangements by the artists," officials said. Music will be performed on the fully-restored 1909 Steinway Series 'O' piano.  The concert is free to the public and an opportunity to make contributions will be available.
