Chattanooga City Councilman And Rock The Block To Volunteer On Thanksgiving

  • Wednesday, November 21, 2018

On Thanksgiving morning, Councilman Russell Gilbert and Rock the Block will be serving breakfast and cold weather goods to those in need.

Rock the Block has been collecting blankets, hats, gloves, scarves and socks to distribute to men and women at the Community Kitchen on Thanksgiving.

"Thanksgiving is a time where we can look around a be thankful for what we have and who we have in our lives,” said Councilman Gilbert. “It’s my hope that providing a warm meal, warm clothes and fellowshipping with these men and women lets them know that we care.”

Thanks to generous donations from Parkridge Valley and Venue Church many Chattanoogans will receive clothes they need to stay warm this winter. Those interested in donating cold weather goods or volunteering on Thursday can contact Shawn Tatum, Staci Williams or Chris Johnson to coordinate a donation or volunteer time.

For more information call Staci Williams at 486-7992, Shawn Tatum at 902-2989 or Chris Johnson at 838-3267.
