On the crisp fall morning of Sunday, November 4, 2018, the Lord called Donald Luther Belk home.
Mr. Belk was born on Oct. 12, 1938 in Jasper, Tn. where he continued to be a resident. He is the son of late James Claude Belk and Thelma Marie Blevins. He was also preceded in death by his lovely wife, Norman Jean Ladd; brother, James W. Belk; and sister, Nancy C. Belk.
Surviving is his sister, Polly Taylor and nephew, Tony Taylor, both of Jasper, Tn. along with several nephews and cousins.
Donald was a lifetime resident of Marion County for the past 80 years. He worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad as a painter. Donald was a member of the VFW and Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard of Jasper. Donald’s faith in God as a young man to his last breath was of the Baptist faith. Donald was a dedicated member of the Baptist Hill Church, in Jasper.
The family will receive family and friends at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper on Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 12-8 p.m. CDT.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. CDT on Thursday, Nov. 8, at Tate Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Roger Webb and Brother Steve Sellers officiating.
Interment will follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
