Thomas Edward McElrath, 70, of Hixson, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018.
Tom was born in Asheville, N.C., on Jan. 31, 1948. He retired from TVA with 37 years of service. He was a member of Dallas Bay Baptist Church where he served as a member of the media team. He was a faithful father to his children.
Tom was preceded in death by one grandson, Dylan McElrath.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Despina “Des” McElrath; daughter, Alicia Beazer (Derrick); son, Michael David McElrath (Beth Ann); grandson, Gabriel Matthew Beazer; parents, James and Barbara McElrath; sister, Pamela Gantt (Bill); niece, Lindsey Gantt; and nephew, Bryan Gantt.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, Dec. 22, from 12-3 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson.
Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
