Gladys M. Bomar, 92, of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018, in a local health care facility. 

As a member of, Wood Station A.M.E. Zion Church she served as a deaconess, life member of Women’s Home, overseas missions, and conference worker.  She later attended First Baptist of Ooltewah.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Willie Robert Bomar, Jr.; parents, Robert and Rachel McCluskey; brothers, Bill McCluskey, John McCluskey, and Maimon McCluskey; sister, Annie Williams; daughters, Angela Bomar Mathis and Patricia Bomar Brown.

Survivors include her daughter, Minister Sheila Bomar (Pastor Gerald, Sr.) Spence; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, all of Chattanooga; brother, Earl (Phyllis) McCluskey of Sidney, Oh.; sister, Corine Nickols of Lyerly, Ga.; and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Visitation is on Thursday, Dec. 6, from 6-7 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.  

Funeral services will be on Friday, Dec. 7, at noon in the chapel with Pastor Gerald Spence, Sr. as the officiant and Minister Sheila Bomar Spence as the eulogist. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
