A Christmas Carol: The Musical Opens Friday

The Theatre and Music Departments of Chattanooga State present A Christmas Carol: The Musical Dec. 7, 8, 9 and 14, 15, 16. Performances on Friday and Saturday will be at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Humanities Theatre, Chattanooga State, 4501 Amnicola Hwy. 

Tickets are $15. $10 children, seniors, and college students. Advanced tickets may be purchased at www.chattanoogastate.edu/theatre.

A Christmas Carol: The Musical takes Charles Dickens classic tale and adds a fantastic score by Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Little Shop of Horrors) and Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime, Seussical, Once On This Island).   

You’ll see the “Bah! Humbug!” curmudgeon Ebenezer Scrooge visited by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. Follow the Cratchit family as they struggle to make ends meet.  We all know how this holiday story ends: with a joyous “Happy Christmas” from Scrooge.  Celebrate this holiday season with A Christmas Carol: The Musical at Chattanooga State.

Jennifer Arbogast Wilson is stage and musical director.  Lindsay Fussell is choreographer. Nicholas Hartline conducts the 15-piece orchestra.  Costumes designed by Brenda Schwab. The set designed by Sue Christensen and Joseph Watts.  Pam Traynor is Technical Director.  Maggie Williams is Stage Manager.
