Former Barking Legs Acting Teacher Chosen As Superman's Mother In Upcoming James Gunn Film

Neva Howell, whose home base is the Chattanooga area, has been chosen to play Superman's mother in the upcoming film by James Gunn.

The one-time acting teacher at the Barking Legs Theater has been active in TV and movies as well as dozens of plays.
 
Her film appearances include "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Long Haul," Steven Soderbergh’s "Logan Lucky," and "My Fellow Americans."
 
She grew up in the South, attended acting school in New York and spent several years in Los Angeles. 
 
Her current residence is listed as Manchester, Tn.
