Henry Holder
Henry Nelson Holder, 79, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 5, 2018.
He loved jeep racing, motorcycles, fishing, camping and his cabin in Coker Creek. He also loved animals and loved blue grass music. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. He was of the Church of God faith.
Henry was born August 10, 1939, oldest son to the late Joseph Clyde and Curnie Kay (Couch) Holder. He was an electrician and a member of the IBEW Local 175 for 50 years. He was owner and operator of Holder’s Tree Service for 16 years.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; the late Henry Nelson and Sarah Holder and George and Bertha Couch.
Henry leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 54 years, Lynn Holder; one son, Joey Holder and his wife Sarah of Cleveland; grandchildren, Molly Holder and Ethan Smith of Cleveland; four sisters, Ruth Davis of Spring City, TN., Carolyn Johns of Decatur, TN., Mary Rapier and her husband Larry of Cleveland and Daphne Rodriquez of Chatsworth, GA.; three brothers, Lawrence Holder and his wife Patricia, James (Jimmy) Holder and his wife Hazel, and Johnny Holder all of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Dec. 6, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, Dec. 7, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Cody Harris and Jason Ollis officiating. Interment will follow in Earls Cemetery with Mike Coffey, Steve Davis, Luke Barker, Keith Peels, Marty Dobbs, and Patrick Cedar serving as pallbearers.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga, and special thanks to the aides and nurses; Galilee Baptist Church and Pine Hill Church of God for all the prayers, food, and friendship; and special neighbors, Donnie and Betty Morgan. We thank you!
