The visiting Georgia Northwestern Bobcats trailed 26-20 at halftime on Thursday, but were unable to pull out the win over the junior varsity Tigers from Hiwassee College as the home team held on for a 62-60 win.

Hiwassee went up by as many as 10 points, 44-34, with 9:47 left to play in the game. But the Bobcats (3-16) would counter with a 14-0 run to take a three-point lead. Tyler Phillips fed J.T. Langford with a nice assist and Traydal Autry added a lay-up to highlight the run.

Hiwassee would retake the lead at 51-49 with 4:19 to play. Davantae Kimble would tie the game shortly thereafter with a pair of free throws, but the Bobcats were never able to regain the lead.
Langford had one of his best nights as a Bobcats with 21 points and nine rebounds. Phillips picked up a double-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds, three blocks and three steals, while Jay Wideman went for nine points and seven boards.

The Lady Bobcats also made the long drive to Madisonville, Tennessee on Thursday night and thanks to the Lady Tigers, it was an even longer drive home.

Hiwassee (13-7) stormed out to a 40-11 lead at halftime, en route to a dominant victory.
Tori Harvey paced the Lady Bobcats (9-6) with eight points. Katy Phillips and Madison Lewis had six points each, while Lewis pulled down five rebounds. Mia Clark and Christina DeSalvo had three points each, while Hannah Carr had a team-high seven boards.

Georgia Northwestern will host a doubleheader against Florida College at the Rossville Athletic Center on Saturday. The women’s game will tip off at 12 noon with the men’s game to follow. 
The games will serve as the annual Pink Games to promote breast cancer awareness.
