Garland “Hickernut” Holloway, 84, of Whitwell, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018 surrounded by his loving family, his wife of 64 years, Juanita French Holloway, his sons and daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving grandson, TJ Holloway; his mother, Rose Holloway Privett; his father Anderson Holloway; sisters, Elaine Thompson and Freda Brown; brother, Luther Privett; and step-dad Jim Privett.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Holloway; four children, Bobby (Darlene) Holloway, Don (Lori) Holloway, Tim (Deb) Holloway, all of Whitwell and Sandra Holloway Guy of Dunlap; five grandchildren, Tonya Holloway, Kim (Roger) Beason, April (Jr) Sullivan Kilgore, Cortney Holloway, Amber (Josh) Holloway Lowe; great grandchildren, Alexis Beason, Tyler Trussell, Blake Sullivan, Hailey Trussell, Madison Poe, Skyller Beason, John Taylor Kilgore; expecting great-great grandchild; nephews, Wayne Castle, William (Brenda) Thompson, Freda Thomas and Juanita (Chris) Wingfield; cousins in Florida and Michigan; and special cousin, Linda Dolf.
Family will receive friends 1-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19 and 1-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21 in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Jim Troyer and Rev. Jerry Merciers officiating. Interment at Red Hill Cemetery.
