Halpin, Willie Gay

Mr. Willie Gay Halpin, 83, of Rossville, passed away Thursday March 22, 2018. Mr. Halpin served his country proudly in the United States Army.  He was a lifelong resident of the area and was of the Methodist faith.

Willie is preceded in death by his parents, James and Lula Holloway Halpin; brother, Olen Halpin; and sisters, Jimmie Dollar, Lorene Halpin Crye and Louise Halpin Canada.

Survivors include his loving wife of over 63 years, Sherma Smith Halpin; children, Kent Halpin (Cindy) of Ringgold, Kathy Ward of Rossville, Pete Halpin (Susie) of Chattanooga and Jennifer Yeargan (Charlie) of Red Bank; sister, Joyce Crowe of Ider, Al.; brother, Ollis Halpin of Michigan; grandchildren, Ansley Halpin (Tiffany), Karrie Ward Evans, Nalani Halpin Chenausky, Kristi Ward, Ryan Halpin, Whitney Halpin and Hillary Halpin; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Halpin will be Monday March 26 at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will meet with friends on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
