Shirley Crawford Menhennett, 69, of Collegedale, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018.

Shirley was born in Winamac, In. She moved to Florida when she was 10 years old and graduated from Forest Lake Academy in 1966. She was a member of Collegedale Seventh-day Adventist Church and was employed for over 30 years at Southern University, most recently as the Campus Kitchen and Deli manager.

Shirley was a caring, generous and spontaneous person who loved her family, scrapbooking, shopping, Elvis and trips to the beach.  She had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. Shirley always shared her strong faith and served as a mentor for numerous students, friends and family.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Lee Menhennett, Sr.; her parents, Forrest and Margaret Crawford;

Surviving are her children, Vernon Lee Menhennett, Jr, Vicki Menhennett, Vincent Menhennett and Valerie (Paul) Drewry; grandchildren, Holly Menhennett, Maegan Drewry, Madison Drewry and Macy Drewry; brothers, Joe Crawford and Dan (JoAnn) Crawford; sisters, Betty (Jerry) Reutebuch, Judy (Bob) Alsip and Bev (Gary) Dotten; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. on June 10, at Collegedale Memorial Park with Pastor Cheri Smith officiating.  

Arrangements are by the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
