Ernest Martin Tilley, age 81, of Dalton, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Myrtle Tilley and two brothers, Wayne Tilley and Tim Tilley.

He was a member of Central Church of Christ for many years.  He loved cats, airplanes and his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Reatha Pritchett Tilley; two sons, Jeff Tilley and Greg Tilley, both of Dalton; four sisters and brother-in-law, Helen Combs and Virginia Tilley, both of Cumming, Ga, Peggy and Johnny Welch of Chatsworth and Linda Combs of Lawrenceville; one brother, Winston Tilley of Cumming; and nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. John Poehlman, the cardiologist who treated him for many years, also the Nephrology Group of Doctors.  A special thanks to Joyce Miller, P.A. who was so much support to the family during the 13 years he was on dialysis.

A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, Sept. 15, at 2 p.m. at West Hill Cemetery with Brother Ross Jordan officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, Sept. 15, from 12-2 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society or the American Kidney Fund.
