Bradley Defeats Walker Valley, 63-27, For 61st Straight Win Versus 5-3A Foes

Blair, Walker Combine For 32 Points Against The Lady Mustangs

Bradley Central’s Jamaryn Blair and Anna Walker were a two-girl wrecking crew Friday night against rival Walker Valley.

Blair scored 18 points and Walker had 14 and the Bearettes (17-2, 6-0) romped to a 63-27 victory over the Lady Mustangs (6-11, 2-4) at Walker Valley.

The win was Bradley’s 61st in a row against district opponents, including district and region tournament games.

Blair and Walker combined to hit 12-of-22 field goals, including 3-of-7 3-pointers. Blair also made 5-of-6 free throws while adding four rebounds, four assists and four steals. Walker chalked up three blocks.

Walker Valley committed 23 turnovers – 10 by Cayce Davis – and outscored the Lady Mustangs 37-4 on those miscues.

The Bearettes enjoyed a 16-point scoring advantage in the paint, 29-0 on fast breaks and the reserves thumped the Walker Valley substitutes 24-8.

Bradley, which is 20-3 against the Lady Mustangs under coach Jason Reuter, hit 25-of-52 shots for 48.1 percent while holding Walker Valley to 26.9 percent shooting (7 of 26). Each team had 25 rebounds. Cambree Mayo and Alexis Barnes joined Blair with four rebounds each. Davis grabbed nine rebounds and scored nine points for Walker Valley. She was 7 of 13 from the free-throw line.

The Bearettes went on a 24-0 run in the second and third quarters, extending a 14-point lead in to a 50-12 advantage.
