Robert Martin
Robert “Bob” Crozer Martin, 63, of Chattanooga, died on Tuesday, January 15, 2019.
He was born on Nov. 30, 1955, to the late John and Jane Martin, Jr. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School. He was a member of The Alabama Band Road Crew for seven years as a “Roadie”, guitar tech, and was known as the Mountain Man. He worked for John Martin Co., Inc. and most recently the IATSE Local 140 and the Walker County School System. Bob was known for his wit and humor which will be missed by many of his family and friends. He was an avid hunter and a collector of Native American Artifacts. Bob cherished time spent with his nieces, nephews, and step-children and their families. Oh… and the stories they could tell you!
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jane Martin, Jr., siblings, Lynn Crantford, Richard Martin and Patricia “Pat” Lawhorn.
He is survived by his brother, Jack (Susie) Martin and Brother in law Bobby Crantford; Sisters, Joanne (Bill Toop) Martin, Nancy (Pat) Neuhoff, Susan (Robert) Blasius, Pam (Joe) Franklin; and twelve nieces and nephews Frank Martin, Julie Martin, John (Kelly) Crantford, Chris Crantford, Amy (Mark) Smith, Matt (Clarissa) Martin, Emily (Kyle) Farnsley, Megan Neuhoff, Taylor Vaughn, Joseph (Emily Pennington) Franklin, Daniel (Sarah Vansandt) Neuhoff, and Chase Blasius; his step-sons Matthew (Erica) and Blaine (Shelby) Vandegriff, and step-daughter, Lee (Casey) Smith; and nine step-grandchildren. He considered all of them his children.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 S. Moore Road, East Ridge, Tn.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 501 S. Moore Road, East Ridge, Tn., with Reverends Joseph McMahon, James Vick, Mike Nolan, and Msg. Al Humbrecht officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery immediately following Mass. Honorary pallbearers are IATSE Local 140.
