The Tennessee Aquarium is contracting out its gift shops and concessions.
An employee said about 30 workers are affected.
The contract will go to Event Network, which operates a number of similar facilities around the country.
The Aquarium has used its own staff since it opened in May 1992.

CARTA is planning to begin providing free rides to veterans on its entire transit fleet.
Lisa Maragnano, executive director, said, "I think we should be doing more for our veterans.
"They put their lives on the line for us so it's the right thing to do. They deserve it."
She said the goal is to have the new policy go into effect Jan. 2.
