Senior forward Riley Engels saved her best soccer for her final season and was named to the Gulf South Conference First Team the league office announced on Tuesday.

Engels ended the regular season with her team-tying seventh goal of the season in a 2-1 win at West Georgia on Saturday.

The Signal Mountain, Tenn. native and three-year starter for the Lady Flames finished 10th in the GSC in goals (7) and fifth in game-winning goals (3). Engels showcased her unselfishness by adding a team-leading five assists and is tied with Riley Henry for the team lead in points with 19.

Engels dazzled down the flank for head coach Chris Hennessey helping the defending South Region Champions secure a 14-4 mark and 10-3 record in the GSC.

"I'm really happy for Riley.
She has worked incredibly hard and is thoroughly deserving of the recognition," said Hennessey. "Hopefully she can continue to play well throughout the postseason."

The Lady Flames will look for another magical postseason run beginning Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. as they host Valdosta State in the GSC Quarterfinals. Lee is a perfect 3-0 in the quarterfinals and have appeared in the GSC semifinals in each of their four seasons of NCAA postseason eligibility. The GSC semifinals will take place on Friday in Pensacola, Fla.
