Roy L. Filyaw Jr., 67, of Harrison, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019.
Roy was a native of Chattanooga, born on April 30, 1952. He retired from Vulcan Materials with 35 years of service. Roy was avid outdoorsman and golfer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vicky; son, Rodney; brother, James; and sister, Alice.
Survivors include his son, Chris Filyaw (Jeri) of Harrison; grandchildren, Tyler McNew, Tyler Filyaw, Alexandria Filyaw, Wyatt Filyaw, Arizona Filyaw, Kacie Lewis and Morgan Bell; two great-grandchildren; and his two sisters, Ella Ruth Lanier and Rachel Harden.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 1-3 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson.
The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 3 p.m. with interment in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
