I am so sick of everything that is done or said when someone is offended. When did we give up our right of freedom to speak or do something that some do not like? In the last few years someone is always upset or "hurt".
I was in school when it was all white, this was in the 60s. We had a talent show and four girls who sang in the school choir (beautiful voices), were involved in the talent show. At that time Diana Ross and the Supremes were a very popular group. These girls, about 14 or 15 years of age, did the song "Stop In The Name of Love" dressed in wigs, and had black faces. Everyone enjoyed the talent show. At no time were they doing that was anything but enjoyment. Each of the four became leaders of our class. We had our 50 year reunion a few years ago and remember all the good times we had in school.
Now a days if one of them should run for elected office would someone bring up the talent show act and try to say they were racist and forgetting that we all have done things that were not trying to hurt someone. Even those that dressed up a few short years ago dressed for Halloween or some other event does not mean they were doing something to hurt the people of color feelings. I am sure some of the people of color have dressed as something other than their own and did not want to hurt someone's feelings.
It is time for all to realize that all can not please everyone all the time. Get a life and live a little instead of being so PC or afraid what we do or say will not be PC.
