Evelyn Skelton, 87, of Chickamauga, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at her residence.
Evelyn had lived most of her life in Chickamauga. She was a homemaker who took pride in her hard work. She loved her family, working in the yard, mowing the lawn, gardening, and enjoying what the outdoors had to offer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Skelton; and son, Donald Skelton.
Survivors include her children, Roger (Deb) Skelton, Sr. of Chickamauga, Jacqueline (Ed) Lowder of Lenoir City, and Susan (James) Cauthorn of Chickamauga; three brothers, Bill Rayburn, Wayne Rayburn, and Mike Trotter; sister, Peggy Rayburn; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, Feb. 25, at 2 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, Feb. 24, from 1-3 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
