Roderick Dossett
Roderick Dossett, 66, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away at a local medical facility Sunday, April 21, 2019 at a local hospital.
Affectionately known as “Hot Rod”, “Unc”, “Gramps”, and “Grandaddy Bokoff”, Roderick was born on Aug. 8, 1952 to the late Richard Dossett, Jr. and Daisy Lucille Smith Dossett. He graduated from Central High School in 1970, was a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, and was lastly employed at Millennium Taxi Services and Transportation. He served in the United States Air Force and was Honorably Discharged.
Roderick was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bradley Dossett, Sr.; and grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
Roderick leaves to cherish his loving memories his daughter, Eboni Raspberry; grandchildren, J’Michael Dossett of Macon, Ga., Bradley Dossett, Jr., Kelsean Patillo, Nicholas Raspberry, Courtney Dossett, of Chattanooga, Tn., and Alexis Dossett, of Macon, Ga.; four great-grandchildren; sister, Kimberley Dossett; daughter-in-law, Vanessa Dossett; nephew, Brelyn Dossett; two uncles, James (Patricia) Williams and Elbert Hinton of Chattanooga; four aunts, Edith Rice, Bessie Williams of Beaumont, Texas, Alice Williams of Chattanooga, and LaWanda Williams of Dalton, Ga.; godsister, Darlene Guthrie of Lithonia, Ga.; and a host of loving cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 27, at 1 p.m. at Union Hill Baptist Church, 1800 N. Chamberlain Avenue, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37406, with Pastor Steve Underwood as eulogist, Pastor Samuel Jackson, and other ministers officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.
Interment will be held Monday, April 29, at 11 a.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
