Eric L. Finley Sr., 68, of Chattanooga transitioned from this life on Monday, May 20, 2019, in a local hospital.  

He graduated from Riverside High School class of 1968.  He was a retired Navy veteran and his career included 17 years of service with TVA as a public safety officer, airport policeman, and electric shuttle driver for CARTA.  He served as an elder at Hope City Church, Inc.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Mae (James) Bennett and Mack Neil Finley; and brother, Henry M. Finley.  

Survivors include his son, Eric L Finley Jr.; daughter, Jaumese Crenshaw; grandson, Parker Crenshaw; sisters, Mary Helen (Sam) Townsend, Diana (Floyd) Mathis, and Deborah (Charlie) Davidson; brother, Calvin (Zelma) Finley of Norfolk, VA; aunt, Betty Lavendar of Detroit, MI; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation is on Tuesday, May 28, from 6-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Interment will be on Wednesday, May 29, at 10:30 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery. 

A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Hope City Church, Inc. at 7 N. Tuxedo Ave.
