Hobert Hickman
Hobert Deward Hickman, Sr., 72, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019.
He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Hickman was a sergeant in the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War as well as the Vietnam War. Hobert was also a member of the VFW 4848 and one of his favorite pastimes was flying RC airplanes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hobert Hickman and Edna Logan; second wife, Charlotte Hickman; stepmother, Rosa Hickman and stepson, Jeff Terry.
Mr. Hickman is survived by his wife, Sandra; son, Hobert Hickman, Jr.; daughters, Tina Labbe, Connie Bond and Sheila (Thomas) Ashby; stepsons, Kenneth Terry and Tommy Hastings; stepdaughters, Lynn (Ray) Lewis and Amy (Randall) Ellis; brother, Bobby Hickman; sister, Denise Postelle; stepbrother, Steve Hixson; stepsisters, Faye Hixson and Teresa Hixson as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 30, from 4-8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home at Highway 58.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 31, at noon in the Turner Funeral Home chapel with Chaplain Bill Bond officiating. Following the service, Mr. Hickman will be laid to rest in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
