Elijah Wright
Elijah Nay Wright, 71, of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019, in a local hospital.
He was a member of Brainerd First Church of God for 40 years. Elijah served as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Lead Singer and Wrote Sheet Music.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emanuel Wright and Louise Allen Wright; brothers, Monroe Foster, Mark Wright, Bobby Wright, William Wright, Clark Wright, and James Wright; sisters, Lois Bennette, Connie Rushing, Mae Martin, Martha Wright, and Betty Turner.
Survivors include his daughter, Daphney Allen of Chattanooga; goddaughter, Makisa Roseberry of Chattanooga; sisters, Mary (Josh) Wright-Williams of Badin, NC, Bonnie (Henry) Wright-Hinson of Albemarle, NC, and Eunice Wright-Kendall of Badin, NC; uncle, Mr. Shelton of High Point, NC; aunt, Julia Wright-Williams of Wadesboro, N.C.; special friends, Catherine Smith, Ladies of Brainerd First Church of God and Miss V.; a host of other relatives and friends.
He will lie in state on Saturday, May 11, at 9:30 a.m. in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with the service to follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Kelvin Russell, Jr. as the eulogist.
