The Chattanooga Mocs women’s golf team is in eighth place after 18 holes of the Mason Rudolph Championships. The squad travelled the 6,400-plus-yard tract at 4-over 292.
The Mocs were one shot off the lead heading into their final hole, the par 4 ninth today. The counters were even-par but four bogeys dropped them five strokes off the pace.
Esme Hamilton and Dorota Zalewska both carded level-par 72s. Maddy McDanel and Rheagan Hall added 74s. Michaela Kulhankova had the drop score of 81, while Kirsty Beckwith shot 76 as an individual.
Vanderbilt and Houston are tied for first at 1 under (287).
UCF and North Carolina are tied for third with 288 followed by Charlotte in fifth at 289. Clemson and Mississippi State are tied for sixth one clear of the Mocs at 291. Abbey Carlson (Vandy) and Elizabeth Moon (UCF) are tied atop the player leaderboard at 68.
The Mocs tee off No. 1 Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m., Eastern time. Kulhankova leads off followed by Hall (9:40), McDanel (9:50), Zalewska (10:00) and Hamilton (10:10). Beckwith opens on 10 at 10:45 a.m. Admission is free for the easy drive up from the Scenic City.
