All good things must come to an end and such was the case on Saturday afternoon as the No. 23 Lee men's basketball team saw its 11-game winning streak snapped with an 86-84 wild overtime loss at West Alabama.

Quay Kennedy hit a tough shot in the lane with seven seconds left in regulation and then blocked a layup by attempt by Darron Johnson on the other end to send the game into overtime tied at 73.

After holding a seemingly comfortable 86-80 lead with seven ticks left in overtime the Tigers nearly gave the game away.
Parker Suedekum hit a jumper and then forced a turnover off the in-bound and alertly heaved up a 3-pointer while drawing contact with two seconds remaining. Suedekum made the first two and intentionally missed the third but Lee was unable to secure the rebound in time to get a shot off.

Freshman Beyaun Hendricks led the Flames with 19 points, going 6 of 10 from the field and 3 of 5 from beyond the arc. Jason Landman followed up an 18 point performance on Thursday with 14 points and four rebounds in 18 minutes.

Ryan Montgomery scored 13 points, had six rebounds and dished off six assists while Josh Lowe chipped in 13 points. Suedekum finished with 10 points and four assists as Lee shot an efficient 52.7 percent from the field and committed just seven turnovers.

After falling behind 45-29 at the half the never-say-die Flames battled back and outscored the Tigers, 44-28 in the second half to force overtime.

Mike Davis led West Alabama with a game-high 25 points. Ricky Dunnaway had 18 points and eight boards while Johnson added 18 points of his own. LaJuan Hardy did a little bit of everything with 16 points on 4 of 5 shooting from deep, nine assists and seven rebounds.

The Tigers did much of their damage from beyond the arc going 9 of 18. The home team crashed the boards and held a 36-27 advantage in rebounding.

The Flames fall to 13-4 and 8-2 in the GSC after losing for the first time since a 73-71 loss at Auburn Montgomery back on Nov. 23. West Alabama improves to 13-4 and 6-3 in league play.

Lee will look to commence a new winning streak on Thursday as it returns to Walker Arena to host Mississippi College. Opening tip is set for 8 p.m.
