Wesley Brown

On the afternoon of Tuesday, December 29, 2020, as the angels sang, the Lord guided John Wesley Brown “Pops” to the pearly gates of Heaven.  Wesley was 71 and a lifetime resident of Jasper, Tennessee.

He was born on July 17, 1949 to his parents, Thomas J. and Glinnie Brown. Wesley was married to Cathie Evans Brown.  His lifetime career was being a self-employed contractor. Every home Wesley built, he built with love, pride and attention to each detail ensuring the construction was perfect. Each project held beloved memories and he gave his heart on each of his special projects.  He admired doing anything with his hands.  As Wesley’s final wish from his heart would be “may the work I have done speak for me”.

Wesley was a Christian of the Baptist faith, a member of Baptist Hill Baptist Church and he loved and worshiped his Lord Jesus Christ.

Wesley loved spending time with his wife, his son, Adam and especially with his granddaughters.  He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandpa and friend.   Wesley loved people and was known for assisting anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jefferson and Glinnie Thomas Brown and brother, Thomas Eugene Brown.

Wesley leaves his memories with his wife of 46 years, Cathie Evans Brown; son, Adam (Kim) Wesley Brown; granddaughters, Presley Brown and Erica Layne; special God-Son, Chad Brown; sisters, Annette (Ivan) Lambert, Ollie Mae Campbell, Glenda (Roy) Barton and Clara Sue (Rick) Kilgore; mother-in-law, Mary Evans along with several nieces, nephews and special friends.
