Leonard Gibson
Leonard James Gibson, Sr., 70, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020, in a Marietta, Georgia, hospital.
He was a retired Yeoman Senior Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherley and Celia Gibson; and sister, Juanita Myricks.
Survivors include his fiancée of four years, Trina Robinson; son, Leonard (Jenn) Gibson, Jr. of Chula Vista, CA; daughter, Jennifer Gibson of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren; brothers, Joseph (Brenda) Gibson, Sr. and Orlando Gibson; sisters, Jehann (Alvin) ArRahmaan and Shirley Hampton, all of Chattanooga; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Leonard will lie in state on Thursday, Aug. 7, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with the family service to follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Alfred Hawkins as the eulogist.
Burial will be on Friday, Aug. 8, at 11 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
