The Tennessee Lady Vols blew a 17-point lead and failed on two last-minute opportunities in a 67-66 loss to Georgia at home on Thursday night.
Jordan Horston had last-second shots to close the first quarter and the half as Tennessee seemed comfortably ahead.
However, the Bulldogs outscored the Lady Vols 29-9 in a frantic and swarming third quarter defensive and offensive display.
Tennessee came back toward the end and had the ball underneath with seconds remaining, but it was fumbled. There was another opportunity when Georgia threw the inbound pass out of bounds. But again Tennessee could not get off a shot.
Tennessee led 40-25 at halftime.
Que Morrison and Gabby Connally had 17 each for the visitors.
Tennessee was led by Rennia Davis' 15 points with 14 coming from Tamari Key and 14 from Horston. Freshman Marta Suarez from Spain tallied eight.
Georgia has only a single loss on the season, and it was the second defeat for the Lady Vols.
It was the first conference defeat for Tennessee.
