Wilda “Sis” Rogers
Wilda “Sis” Rogers, 93, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Hamilton Medical Center.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Luda Walker, and her father, Paul Rodgers, Sr.; sister, Dorothy “Dot” Townsend; brothers, Paul Rodgers, Jr. and David Walker; and a brother-in-law, J.D. Ray.
Wilda was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church and Dalton First Baptist Church. She retired from Collins and Aikman. After she retired, she was instrumental in the development of the Gift Shop at Hamilton Medical Center.
“Sis” is survived by her sister Alice Ray of Rocky Face; special nephew, Mitch (Jessie) Walker (whom she raised as her son); special nieces, Teresa (James) Smith, Gail (Richard) Grant and Michele (James) Hall; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Even though she never had children of her own she was always a devoted mother figure to her family and treated all of them as her own.
A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the Rocky Face Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the memorial service at 5 p.m.
