U.S. Army Veteran Retired As A Lineman Supervisor With EPB

Marion “Moo” Holland, 84, of the Lakesite Community passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at his home.   

 

He was a native of Vincennes, In., and moved to Chattanooga in 1977.  Marion was a United States Army veteran having served in a division of the Sixth Calvary.  He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church and a member of the Knights of Pythias where he served as an officer and Past Chancellor Commander.  Marion began his career in Kokomo, In., as a lineman and moved to Chattanooga working for EPB.  He retired in 1997 from EPB as a supervisor head lineman and supervisor of the Contract Crew with 20 years of service.  Marion loved spending time outdoors especially if he was on the lake.  He loved to ride his grandchildren around on the golf cart and he was a great remodeler and landscaper. He was proud that he was able to pass his knowledge of gardening to his grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tami Holland-Howard; parents, William and Lura Holland; siblings, Bob Calloway, Pat Wideman, Lura Mae Ferris, Bernard Holland, Adam Wayne Holland, and Rita Holland-Cardinale.

 

Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Sharon Greene Holland; children, Steve (Paula) Holland, Cyndi Holland-Dunder, Rick (Cindy) Holland, Diedre (Terry) Nida, Marlyn (Mickey) Robinson, and Doug (Diana) Bryant; two sisters, Marilyn Benner and Hazel Brewer; brother, Ron Holland; fifteen grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 6, at noon in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Doug Bryant officiating.  Livestreaming of Mr. Holland’s funeral will be available on the funeral home website.

 

Interment will follow in the TN-GA Memorial Park.

 

The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.
