The state bowling tournament team competition kicks off today in Smyrna. According to TSSAA Media Director Matthew Gillespie, "As a precautionary measure due to current weather conditions, the start of the bowling state tournament on Thursday will be delayed by one hour. The start of the two scheduled rounds will now be 10 a.m. for Boys’ Semifinals and 2 p.m. for Girls’ Semifinals. Gates WILL NOT open until 9 a.m."
Two Chattanooga teams will be competing in the Division II classification. Boyd Buchanan (14-1) and number one in the East Region will face the number three team out of the Middle Region, Pope John Paul (7-3). McCallie (4-7), the number two East squad, will face St. Benedict (7-1), the numer one finisher in the West Region.
Earlier, in the individual competition, Boyd Buchanan's Caleb Kelly finished third and David Benefield of McCallie was right behind in fourth.
