Opal Ladd Pinson
Opal Ladd Pinson of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022. She was 93.
Opal was born in Harriman, Tn. She attended the University of Chattanooga from 1952-1954 and graduated from Edmondson Business School.
While living in Rossville, she worked at Routh 5&10 and served as a secretary on the board of Rossville Merchants Association. After she left there, she went to work as a secretary at Commonwealth Life Insurance, where she met her husband of 40 years, Willie Hugh Pinson, Sr.
Opal and her husband enjoyed traveling throughout their retired years. She was a member of Crosspath Church in East Ridge.
Opal was proceeded in death by her husband, Willie Hugh Pinson Sr.; parents, Marcus Floyd and Bessie Mae Jarnigans Ladd; sister, Roberta Ford and; Verda M. Waters; brother, James C. Ladd; niece, Brenda Bullard; nephew in law, William (Bill) Jones.
Opal is survived by stepchildren, Glenda Pinson (Mike) Moore and Willie Hugh Pinson Jr.; niece, Glenda Jones; nephew, Charles (Shirley) Ford; grandchildren, Melissa (Noah) Moore, Lynette Pinson, and Dianna (Tim) King; great grandchildren, Colten Smith and Logan King.
We want to extend our gratitude to the staff at American House Hamilton Place and the Hearth Hospice staff. They took such good care of Opal and she loved them.
Funeral service will be at 12 p.m. on Friday, July 1, in the funeral home chapel with Chaplain Kevin Becker officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
