A Citizens Town Hall on the city's adoption of a Climate Action Plan will be held on June 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Calvary Chapel, 3415 Broad St.
It is sponsored by Glenda Pappu, Dean McGhan and Harriette Reid representing NoogaVoices, described as a non-partisan grassroots organization of concerned citizens.
The group said, "On March 28 the Chattanooga City Council voted in favor of Mayor Tim Kelly’s plan to transform our beautiful Scenic City into a surveillance monitored 'Smart City' by enacting the Climate Action Plan (CAP). The CAP is full of surprises that will definitely increase costs, stymie new road infrastructure, change zoning, building codes and more."
Additional town hall meetings will be held in Collegedale and Hixson in the next two months.
The group stated, "These are must-attend meetings that will not only be informative and educational but will offer possible solutions to hopefully prevent Tennesseans from giving up our privacy, personal information, and our city as we know it. Help us preserve the Scenic City of Chattanooga before it’s too late."
