U.S. Army Veteran Was Member Of Sunset Hills Baptist Church

Wayne Parker Tate of Nolensville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 5, 2023, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born on Feb. 27, 1936 in Subligna, Ga., but lived most of his life in Hixson, Tn.

He was a graduate of Carson Newman College and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Sunset Hills Baptist Church and spent many hours reading and studying his Bible. He enjoyed traveling, country music and spending time with family and friends.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Earl and Annie Ruth Tate.

Survivors include his loving wife, Joyce Tate, daughter, Janice (Tony) Toth, son, David Tate, stepdaughter, Kelly (Wade) Glass and stepson, Greg Campbell; grandchildren, Kasey (Tyler) Hobbs, Kayla (Austin) Tyler, Keri (Seth) Caudle, Holly Tate, Kelly (Luke) Borres, Tanner (Rachel) Glass, Corbin Glass, Jarrett Campbell and Rylee Campbell; great grandchildren Gemma Hobbs and Cohen Caudle.

Services to celebrate Wayne’s life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association at The Longest Day 225 N. Michigan Avenue Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601 or alz.org.

The family would like to thank to Aveanna Hospice for their compassionate care during Wayne’s last days as well as loving neighbors, Larry and Sherry Tillman and Dell Sipkowski.
