Lou Ziebold Will Improve Walden

Dear Fellow Citizens of Walden:

We have an opportunity to support and vote for an extremely qualified candidate for alderman who is for improving our lives. This man is Lou Ziebold.

The "Walden Town Center" project is the most critical issue in this race.  It would bring in over $400,000 in new taxes annually. Think about what that could do for taxpayers. Lou Ziebold is for it.  His opponent, Lizzy Schmidt, in not because it includes a grocery store.

Further, Lou worked on the Planning Commission to insure the project would meet all specifications; especially safety and environmental. It does. In addition, the Town Center is designed to have a quaint village aesthetic.

Lou's opponent, Lizzy Schmidt voted twice in the past to kill the project, something that would help all residents of Walden. Ms. Schmidt even voted against the recommendations of the very Planning Commission she voted to establish. Why?

Does she have a special interest in not having this project come to fruition since it includes a grocery store? It has been revealed that she and members of her family own a company that owns the property that the Pruett Grocery, Wine, Deli and Catering service complex sits on. They receive monthly rental checks. It would be interesting to know how much Chuck Pruett contributes to her campaigns. Neither want competition to the monopoly they enjoy. Further, the town center plan includes only one anchor store which is about the size of Pruetts.

Don't be hoodwinked by statements coming from her campaign. Go to Lou Ziebold's website and ask Lou any question, and learn the truth.

Wilbourne C. Markham, Sr.
