Nadine Adkins Marlin, 85, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, passed away on March 10, 2024.

She was born in Rossville, and was a proud graduate of Rossville High School. Nadine was an active member of their alumni group until her health wouldn't allow it any longer. She married the late Ray Marlin in 1957 and spent her live nurturing and caring for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Seeing the young ones always put a smile on her face.

Nadine was an avid reader, sometimes staying up all night to finish a book. She also enjoyed the water and working in the yard. She loved the beach and has spent over 30 years living at the lake. You could usually find Nadine in the kitchen with a cup of coffee and some chocolate.

She was a member of Ooltewah Methodist Church. Psalms 23 was a comfort to her, especially during these last few months.

Nadine was preceded in death by her parents, John Alvin and Velma Adkins, her brother, Buford Adkins, and husband, Ray Marlin.

She is survived by her daughters, Tracie (Dirk) Durham and Lisa (Mark) Cuttle, grandchildren, Katie (Jonathan) Bishop, Rachel (Danny) Finch, Noah (Chloe) Cuttle, and Patrick Cuttle, and great-grandchildren, Peyton, Charlie, and Caroline, along with several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Hearth Hospice for their caring guidance during these last few weeks and Dr. Gill Jeong. His smile and compassionate words were comforting.

Memorial donations may be made to Ooltewah United Methodist Church in Nadine’s honor.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 14, from 5-8 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 12 p.m. with Rev. Micah Nicholous officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens

Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
