Hixson resident reading "Milestones" magazine
Morning Pointe Senior Living’s premier annual magazine, “Milestones,” is now available to the public.
“We look forward to the unveiling of our ‘Milestones’ magazine each year,” said Greg A. Vital, Morning Pointe co-founder and president. “Our 2024 edition is packed full of inspirational stories from 2023.”
The publication features life stories of residents throughout the company’s Southeast footprint, spotlights on associates, updates on the company, senior living resources for families and more.
Several of the features spotlight residents at Chattanooga-area Morning Pointe communities.
One spotlights the career of Richard Williams, a U.S. Army veteran and who resides at The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence in Chattanooga. Mr. Williams worked for Chattanooga Prison Ministries for a while, as well as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and The Transformation Center counseling organization.
Another shares the journey of Gerda Vance, who grew up in Germany during World War II and married an American, moving to the United States and later managing a pancake house. She is currently a resident at Morning Pointe of Hixson Assisted Living and Memory Care.
Other highlights this year are articles about a Distinguished Flying Cross recipient in Spring Hill; a woman in Lenoir City, who took the trip of a lifetime sailing all over the Caribbean; a certified nursing assistant in Frankfort, Ky., who celebrated 20 years with Morning Pointe in 2023; a cook in Spring Hill who has written music for reality TV shows; an Italian immigrant in Knoxville who served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and went on to work on the Apollo and Mercury space projects; and a feature provided by the University of Kentucky Sanders-Brown Center on Aging about the new FDA-approved Alzheimer’s medication.
Copies of the magazine are available at each Morning Pointe campus and at its home office at 6020 Arbury Way in Ooltewah. It is also available to read online at https://morningpointe.com/about-us/.
