Lily Moyers O’Neil, 78, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord Jesus on March 26, 2024.

She adored her devoted husband, Eddie, her best friend. Lily enjoyed spending time with her family, and was tireless in demonstrating her love for others. Birthday cakes, Christmas sleepovers, and fresh popcorn were the symbols of her enormous love for her grand-children. She loved good candles, good coffee, and New York City holding Eddie’s hand. She loved to go boating with the family and was overjoyed to be together. She loved crocheting and creating art. Her kitchen and craft room were her happy place. Her banana pudding and cheesecake were the highlights of any celebration.

She was preceded in death by beloved mother, Geneva Loudermilk Moyers, dad, Edgar Moyers, sister, Eunice Moyers Siplak; and brother, Harbert Pilgrim.

She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Eddie L. O’Neil; her children: son Jeff Allen Headrick (Karen), daughters; Teresa Headrick Williams (Regan) , Lisa Headrick Kelly; stepsons: William Patrick O’Neil, Christopher O’Neil; grandchildren; Anna Marie Kelly, Ireland Rhea Headrick, Ian Scott Wesson, Ivy Grace Wesson, Jeffrey Allen Headrick II., many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and a host of special beloved friends.

Lily retired from U.S. federal civil service of 20 years. She worked at several agencies through the years, the last being with FBI in Knoxville and Chattanooga. For another 10 years she had a successful salon in the Halls community of Knoxville.

Lily was a courageous and compassionate woman who leaned in and loved others fiercely. Her smile was a window to her lovely soul.

Funeral services will held on Monday, April 1, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Hamilton Funeral Home with the Reverend Braxton Cotton officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
