A 21-year-old woman was killed in a head-on crash on Hixson Pike on Saturday afternoon.

She was identified as Kristin Lynn Duffy, of Oak Street, Chattanooga.

A black pickup truck driven by 17-year-old James Smiley was inbound on Hixson Pike, when it apparently crossed the center line and hit an outbound car near Shady Court.

The driver of the car was killed.

It took Chattanooga Firefighters about an hour to free her body from the wreckage.

Traffic Division Officer Steve Jones said charges are pending against the driver of the truck, who received only minor injuries in the crash.

Traffic Division Officer Kenneth Hogans is also assisting in the investigation.
