Ruby Falls Names Kara Van Brunt Director Of Operations

Ruby Falls has promoted Kara Van Brunt to Director of Operations and Strategic Development. An 11-year veteran employee, Ms. Van Brunt is responsible for providing an employee-oriented high performance culture and targeting revenue growth to include food, beverage, gifts and other products the attraction provides guests.

"In today's highly competitive market, having Kara's operational expertise coupled with her focus on new customer offerings will be great for the future growth of Ruby Falls," said Ruby Falls President Hugh Morrow.

Ms. Van Brunt began her career at Ruby Falls in February 1996 as a tour guide, working fulltime while attending Chattanooga State as a fulltime student. She has worked in various capacities at Ruby Falls, including the front desk, retail, food service, the money office and administration.

Ms. Van Brunt graduated with an Associate's Degree from Chattanooga State, also completing a Hospitality Management Internship for two semesters. Ms. Van Brunt graduated Cum Laude in 2005 with a Bachelor's in Business Administration/Organization from Bryan College. She is currently a member of Southern Highlands Attractions Association, serving as Hospitality Committee Chair, and an active member of the National Caves Association.

She is married to Jeremy Van Brunt and the couple resides in Red Bank.

Ruby Falls holds the distinction of being America's deepest commercial cave and most-visited underground waterfall. Ruby Falls is open every day from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Guided tours depart every few minutes.
