Superman's Mom Has A Chattanooga Connection

  • Thursday, July 3, 2025

Actress Neva Howell plays Clark Kent's mom in the new Superman movie, set to be released July 11th.

And she has a Chattanooga connection.

Mark Gill notes, "Back in 1994, Neva taught an acting class at the Barking Legs Theatre at McCallie and Dodds. I took the class.

"She also performed a one-woman show at BLT.
Don't know how long she taught acting in town.

"If memory serves, Neva is from Northeast Alabama. Her big credit back then was a small part in a CBS movie, The Conviction of Kitty Dodds, which can viewed on YouTube. She had several scenes with actor Kevin Dobson of the TV show Knotts Landing."
