Linda Frederick Strickland of Dayton, Tennessee, passed away in her home on June 29, 2025.

Linda was born to the late Harold H. (Jack) Frederick and the late Elsie Estelle Rhodes Frederick on Sept. 17, 1942, in Booneville, Ms.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband Lamar T. Strickland, Jr.; her parents; her brothers William Larry Frederick and James Harold Frederick; and her stepmother Lorena Parsons Frederick.

Linda attained both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Biology and Education from The University of North Alabama and The University of Alabama. She taught biology and physical science in public schools of Georgia, Mississippi, and Alabama. Linda completed her working career at TVA where she worked in health physics as well as technical training manager.

Linda enjoyed birds, reading, and ever the educator, teaching others about the wildlife and history of the area surrounding her lake home.

Linda also found passion in helping others and did so throughout the years by volunteering with the Rhea County Sherriff’s Department Toys & Coats for Children program.

One of Linda’s greatest joys were the many “girls’ trips” taken with her daughter, granddaughters, mom, sister, and nieces. Linda loved traveling to the beach, museums, and places of historical significance stateside and cherished making memories with her granddaughters on their travels to France, and Italy.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Mary “Amber” (Robert) Wright; granddaughters Shelby E. (Jacob) Hromi and Anna K. Wright of Chattanooga, her sister, Angie Jones and her brother, Tommy Wade Frederick of Iuka, Ms.

Linda is also survived by many loved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Linda was kind, generous, intelligent, loving, and accomplished. She was a treasure who made you thankful to have known her.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, July 19, at Williamson and Sons funeral home in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee. Visitation will be held from 1:30-3 p.m. with service following at 3:30 p.m.
