After a series opening 3-1 victory on Tuesday night the Chattanooga Lookouts had another sterling effort on the mound Wednesday and beat the Birmingham Barons for the second consecutive night, this time by a slim 3-2 margin.
Starter Ryan Cardona gave the Lookouts five scoreless innings allowing only two hits with two strikeouts. Simon Miller gave up a run in the bottom of the ninth but was able to get the final out and earn his sixth save.
Offensively Sal Stewart hit his tenth homerun of the season in the top of the eighth inning for the deciding run. Hector Rodriguez, Cam Collier, and Ethan O'Donnell each had two hits on the night.
The two teams lock up again on Thursday night in Birmingham before heading to Chattanooga to play three games over the holiday weekend.
