Starting pitcher Zach Willeman made the most of his first start with the Chattanooga Lookouts Tuesday night. The 29 year old minor league veteran tossed five scoreless innings while allowing only three hits and striking out two.
After Willeman's exit the Dodgers' bullpen was outstanding. Arij Fransen struck out four of the six hitters he faced and allowed no hits or runs. Trevor Kuncl threw a scoreless ninth as he seems to always do, his tenth save on the season.
Ethan O'Donnell got the Lookouts on the board in the top of the second inning, singling home Jay Allen II. Allen again scored in the sixth, this time along with Edwin Arroyo on a Cade Hunter double to put the Lookouts up 3-0.
The two teams will square off again on Wednesday night with the Lookouts trying to overcome a slow second half start. After winning the division in the first half, Chattanooga sits at 2-4, a game and a half behind division leading Knoxville.
